Esperance, Western Australia

Scattered along the coastline at Esperance there are many delightful sandy coves, sheltered by cliffs and bastions of chunky rocks. In the spring, wildflowers spread in glorious profusion over any slope that can hold enough soil for growth. Just our of the town there is a scenic drive that runs for ten kilometres through desolate but spectacular dunes. It follows the cliffs to Observatory Point, where the views are indeed lovely. It is a pleasant bays to pull into for viewing the inlets and sea with their incredible variations of blue. There is more superb coastal scenery at Cape Le Grand, about twenty-light kilometres out of Esperance.
