Cuernavaca, Mexico

A good proportion of Mexico City’s population, as well as the tourist group, like to spend some time at Cuernavaca each year – and for good reason. It compares favorably with resort centers anywhere on this continent.

On rolling land next to the mountains, Cuernavaca is full of canyons and ravines. Winding streets are shaded by trees, lined with many comfortable homes and luxuriant gardens. There are sidewalk cafés and many shops – specializing in souse and huaraches, silver, hand-blocked and hand-loomed fabrics and sport clothes.

There is plenty to see in Cuernavaca. Don’t miss the Borda Gardens and Cortes Palace in the town itself; not far from the town ar the Caves of Cacahuamilpa, the picturesque village of Tepoztlan and Lake Tequesquitengo.
